I need something to play wmv files. Which is better for the time being til F4M is released in UB: the non-ub F4M or WMP for mac?
 
I used WMP in Rosetta. Probably not the best solution in all respects, but it saved running Quicktime is Rosetta all the time, or having to keep toggling that option.

The Flip4Mac UB beta is out now, though. Not officially released to the public, but it should be fairly easy to find a copy. It runs great for me.
 
Is Windows Media Player still available? I was under the impression that the download page at Microsoft's website was a link to Flip4Mac.

Having used both, Flip4Mac is superior, IMO. It is more seemlessly integrated by using QuickTime. The free version also allows you to save Windows Media files in QuickTime format. You can also rewind and fastforward Windows Media movie files, a function that never seemed to work under WMP for me.

According to Flip4Mac, an Intel version is in the works.

Would it work to make a copy of Quicktime in your apps folder, and toggle one of them to run in rosetta?

I tried that - but I couldn't get OS X to assign WMV files to it seperately, it just defaulted to the normal Quicktime.
