Very specialized stuff...
This looks to be very specialized hardware. It's difficult to imagine this working for general algorithms. It looks much more like Altivec on some kind of crazy, genetically-engineered, steroids.
ie, I guess maybe it will run some photoshop filters pretty fast. 🙂

Maybe Apple could switch OS X to work on PACT if Motorola fails to deliver on the G5... 🙂 Of course, the PACT is probably like $2000 a chip or higher..
