Hi there,

I have a 12" PowerBook DVI, on MacTracker it tells me that the memory runs at 266MHz. I have installed a 256MB 333MHz SODIMM, system profiler tells be that the RAM I installed runs a PC2700 (DDR333). As for the internal RAM, it doesn't display the speed. My question is: Is is the new RAM runnning at 266MHz or 333MHz? or are both now running at 333MHz due to me installing a 333MHz chip?

Thanks

Alex

All depends on which model of PB12" you have.

On the 1GHz, the chip will run at 266MHz, since it only has a 133MHz system bus.
On all others, the chip will run at 333MHz, as the bus on them runs faster at 167MHz.

Thanks for the answer, it makes sense. When system profiler shows PC2700 it must just be showing what the RAM is capable of.

Mine's a 1GHz for you info.

Thanks again,

Alex
