Waking up the mac after sleep mode problems!!

For some reason, everytime I wake my powermac G4 1ghz up from sleep mode, the resolution of my monitor settings change to a lower setting, and the wallpaper changes back to the default. But then if I restart the computer, everything goes back to the way I set it? Any ideas of what might be causing this?

Repair you disk permissions and let us know if it is still doing it.
