That's why I think the Blu-Ray rumors are pretty likely. Apple likes to adopt technology early.

So Apple was one of the first to put WiFi in a computer?

I don't know for sure, but Apple was at least among the earliest adopters.

The actual 802.11b standard was ratified in September 1999, so that should tell something.

So who started WiFi? or how did it get started?

That might give you some answers. Before 802.11 there was no standard. So that's where this standard began.

Oh thats so crazy... You have to love when things come together like that... Now only if some mediums like Blue Ray and HD-DVD could come together or maybe even all music players could come with a single format...

I mean think about how hindered we'd be if it wasn't all WiFi...

And think about how far we could be going if it wasn't a battle between Blue Ray and HD-DVD but just one fomat, and apple was putting it in the new desktop. - (okay maybe a little dramatic, but our lives would be easier).

Depends on what you mean by "WiFi". Apple was the first to ship 802.11b standard hardware with a computer. 802.11 stuff was around well before this, however.
