PowerBook power supply

My PowerBooks power brick is on its last legs. This will be by third power supply since owning this laptop, a Titanium G4. The brick goes for about 70 bucks, a chunk of change that is not so easy to hand over for such a poorly deigned power brick. The cord, just like my previous ones has split right near where it plugs into the laptop. Does any one know if it is possible to repair these? I have been down this road before and told that it was not but I thought I would inquire one last time.. this will most likely be the last brick I buy prior to upgrading to a MacBook.
