Why eat it dead when you can eat it live?
I prefer Medium Rare to Medium. Well done steak to me tastes like a hamburger.

Well done? Blergh!!
I'll have mine Rare please waiter. I'd rather not have a steak that's been chucked around the kitchen, zapped in the microwave, deep-fried and then grilled. Cause Chefs HATE cooking steaks well-done.
A proper steak shouldn't need any sauce. But I like mine marinaded, cooked to perfection (rare) and served with some chips and vegies and either Dianne sauce or every now and then just a dash of the old "dead horse" on the side - tops at a BBQ.

I used to always like it well done, and still do at times, where it's nice and crispy on the outside and any fat is golden brown and tasty. However, I do like them a bit rare too, these days — still as brown as you can get it on the outside, but the inside still pink. I'd have ketchup with the well done one, but not the rarer one. It's like two separate foods, they taste so different.
Having said that, I rarely eat steak. It's not often I fancy a giant piece of meat like that, I'm more of a bits of meat in something else kind of girl. And I definitely prefer lamb over beef, myself. Beef's got a funny taste to it.

Well done is awful... wastes good steak by making it tougher to chew.
I'll have it rare to medium rare... and no need for sauces with a good bit of beef. Just serve it with some black pepper, new potatoes and brocolli or green beans. Fabulous...
My mouth is watering now... might have to stop at the butchers on the way home 😀

It's true...
Asking for a steak well done is like insulting the chefs mother.
You are asking them to take a beautiful juicy textured piece of meat and reduce it to a tough dry one. It's their art you see, and it breaks their hearts to ruin good ingredients.
