Yes an other 8500/120 thread (Memory)

Quick question to the group!

Can I run ECC Memory in this box, or will it try to kill itself (and me) if I attempt this?

Known specifications for memory upgrades...

128mb EDO 166 pin 60ns DIMM (Also supports FPM).
The system has 8 slots to gross just over 1gb of total memory if desired.

I am unable to find a site that states exactly if this is ECC or Non-ECC memory.

Thanks for any help!

They made EDO ECC RAM? O.O'

I have Non-ECC and it works fine.

About a half hour ago I would have seriously considered it. I had some issues getting it to boot after I finally installed my G3/400 Processor (yeah I know they sell G4's for this box, but I wasn't interested).

I totally forgot to reset CUDA "before" I slid the processor into place. I swear I had the system apart 4 times before I finally figured it out!

Good luck on finding a clean 8500, I searched a long time to find mine. I had a really hard time finding one as clean as my Quadra 840av, however since then, I have seen many on Ebay, and a few for sale on AppleFritter (sp?).
