Migrating from iBook to MacBook

Doing the above and the MacBook doesnt seem to be able to see the other 'Book when I hook them up with a FW cable. I remember reading somewhere that Intel Macs cant do Target disk mode, so why does Apple have this option when you are setting up your new Mac anyway??

I've set it up and I'm trying to use Migration Assistant but the MacBook still wont see the iBook!!! Any advice??
