Mail.app and "Read Receipts"

Does anyone know how to check whether mail.app can be set to *not* auto-respond to "Read Receipts"

I just wanted to be sure that some of the spam i get through my hotmail account doesn't send my details on unwittingly.


Any help would be appreciated.
