.Mac Webmail to get a new look
http://www.mac.com/1/webmail.html
For all you .Mac subscribers, our webmail will soon get a new look. It will have drop and drag, autofill, and other features to catch up with the other AJAX web mail applications. I hope for more .Mac improvements in the future.

That's nice, but I'm still waiting for more storage.
To clarify, I have .Mac and love the features, I just think for $100/yr, Apple is being a little chintzy with storage (after all, Google offers 2 GB for free and AOL offers unlimited space for free). Last edited by EricNau : Sep 26, 2006 at 09:32 PM. |

Nice. That's quite an update, definitely a welcome feature. The .Mac updates seem to have become quite scarce recently...
Incidentally, where did you find that page? I can't see a link to it anywhere on Apple's .Mac page. irmongoose

Hmm, yeah it looks like the main page alternates between the Webmail sneak peak and the free GarageBand loops. So sorry, never mind.

.Mac Webmail Sneak Peak
http://www.macrumors.com/images/macrumorsthreadlogo.gif
Apple has posted a preview of their improved .Mac webmail service with a familiar feel. Quote:
Apple's .Mac service is a US $99.95/year service offering web mail, and some Mac OS X integration. Last edited by HexMonkey : Sep 27, 2006 at 07:34 PM. |

Sweet. As an adamant dotmac user this looks really cool. I use my web-mail frequently at work and it's nice to see it getting a major update! Hopefully they update the rest of dotmac too. As is it works great, but it could use some new features.

That's GREAT news. I've been stuck using web mail since my IT folks locked down all the ports on our system. Can't wait to have reasonable functionality again.

Cool if you have it already I guess. I could never find the value in the $99 for a .Mac account tho...
email? There are plenty of free email options avalible. Storage? It's nifty but really only if you have a fast internet connection (otherwise I think it'd be smarter to spend that $99 toward a flash card or something). Virus protection? Useful perhaps, what with all the viruses on Macs now-a-days.

Wow, that looks very nice! I don't have a .Mac account, but I would definitely love one... but not for $99.
I'm really hoping for a price drop in the near future.

Very nice. Can't wait 'till it's live. My sub. renews in about two weeks or so. I wish they'd give iWeb to .Mac subscribers.

Neat looking. It's about time that Apple came on par with Outlook / Exchange webmail.

Looks great, but as my main email account is not a .mac account and POP doesn't really do it for me, I'll only use it if they provide IMAP access.
The only real reason that I use .mac are its backup and synchronization features which are hardly worth paying $99 a year for. .mac still needs to come a long way to stay competitive and this is reasonable start, but a new interface is only that - a new interface. More space, more features and better functionality are the only way .mac will come out of the dark ages and join the rest of Apple's innovative, first-class products. |

I'm a long-time .Mac subscriber: Backup and Sync alone are worth $100/year to me. But email? Their email servers are down more than they're up! This is putting lipstick on a pig.

It's about time!
Dot Mac's web mail looks like it was pulled straight out of Mac OS 10.2 "Jaguar" I'm very happy that it's being updated since the interface of the web mail looks very dated. Also the new features look like a good perk

Glad I get .Mac for free. I like the look of it, but please Apple do the following:
- 4 GB iDisk - New Killer Feature - Lower the price to $79 - Better integration |

It's been worthwhile for me, as I have never had ANY outages on my web pages... There's only one feature that I'd really like Apple to add, and that's the ability to use your own domain name, instead of having 'homepage.mac.com/username,' or, worse, 'web.mac.com/username/iWeb/etc. etc. etc.' --> Nobody can ever memorize these URL's. And I have to pay $10 a year to get a Yahoo Domain referrer (www.lifeisaprayer.com).

Main Picture Photoshopped
Has anyone had a close look at the main picture on Apple's preview page? The sender of the email in the top pane is 'Katie Lorenzo' but in the preview pane her name is 'Amy Lorenzo'. Also, the delivery time is out by almost an hour.
