Apple Releases iTunes 7.0.1

Apple released the iTunes 7.0.1 update today through the Mac OS X Software Update. The new version is also available at Apple's site.

Quote:
With iTunes 7 and the new iTunes Store, preview and purchase high-quality hit movies plus new and classic games designed exclusively for the Fifth Generation iPod. Flip through your collection by album cover with Cover Flow, protect your iTunes library by backing up to CDs or DVDs, and much more.

iTunes 7.0.1 addresses stability and performance issues with Cover Flow, CD importing, iPod syncing, and more.
Some users have had problems with the 7.0 update. This update presumably addresses these issues.

I'm going to check those performance issues. The only one I could complain of was Cover Flow hogging a lot of RAM.

That was rather quick, although I haven't had any issue with iTunes 7 on PPC Macs.

Hmmm, weird!

I just did a "check for updates" on the PC version 7.0.0.70 and it responded with that I am up to date. Not that I really care about keeping my "at work" PC up to date, I store all my music at home on the PowerBook anyway...

Why is it that iTunes 7 always messes up permissions? It seems like getting that right should be a simple fix.

Fast work by Apple.

I really like iTunes 7, save the scroll bar. Hopefully this nails down all of the quality issues.

Fixed my bug...

The only bug that I noticed was that the "Cover Flow" on my Macbook would have degraded graphics in the scrollbar after using them - this fixed that right up.

Can you elaborate? What is it "messing up?"

I'll have to wait until I go home today to see if it corrects my issues with memory usage, authorization/deauthorization of computers, and playback problems. I can only hope...

Hope this returns the option to leave my Shuffle in the source list after ejecting it.

It's the little things that matter most. A child's first cry, a red barn on a rolling green pasture, a babbling brook, the wind whistling over the rotting shingles of a maximum security prison, a bullet piercing the silent night, getting rid of that putrid green icon that has been sitting in my dock for over a year. Those are the things you remember. Just imagine when the ipod first came out if Apple used black earbuds instead of white?... It just wouldn't be the same and podcast probably wouldn't even be a word yet.
