This is destined to pork my computer though, since I haven't backed up in a week. Very willie-nilly for me...

It seems to update the AirPort card firmware on the Core (1) Duo iMac...can anyone find a change list? How about confirming this on a MB or MBP? Maybe we have 802.11n capabilities now?

Kinda funny - the one product they held a 90 minute dog-n-pony show for is the only application NOT updated so far this week.

It appeared in Software Update this morning and when I tried to install it S/ware update crashed. When I went back in it was gone! Weird!

That is weird indeed! I'm sure it'll be out shortly - maybe 1.5 requires something in 10.4.8?

Check your Library/Receipts folder - if it wrote a receipt for Aperture 1.5 but didn't update the application, Software Update won't grab it the next time you try. You could wait for the standalone, or try moving the Aperture 1.5 receipt (if it exists) to the trash and re-running Software Update.

Also, might as well get this over with for the thread as well: Wow, do you think if they run beyond 10.4.9 it's gonna be 10.4.10 or something else?

Notice that each of these updates are required for Aperture 1.5. I think Apple wants users to upgrade in this order because Aperture 1.5 required OSX 1.4.8 and the lastest iLife stuff.

Aperture depends on some core libraries that are inside Mac OSX so we see OSX updata before some of the Aperture updates. In this case because they added "iLife/iWork integration" as a new feature to Aperture it should be no surprize that the iLife/iWork had to be upgraded to support it

Makes sense. Thanks!
