A few days later, my dual-66MHz BeBox (later upgraded to a dual-133MHz version) arrived. I loved that computer more than any before or since.

jsw, do you still run BeOS? If not on a BeBox, then on a p.c.? I've seen a lot of free programs out there for BeOS 5.0 which is also free for download, I'm curious if you still run that wonderful OS that Palm Inc so cruelly shelved.

Once a year or so, I bring out the BeBox, boot it up, and play around with it for a few weeks. I tend not to download too much, as I don't want to somehow screw it up, but I'm still very impressed by what is now a 10+-year-old OS.

Someday I'm going to wrest my old Celeron 500 box away from my brother and reinstall BeOS 5 Pro on it and re-live those heady days. It will be wonderful.
