iPod Shuffle 2G Now Shipping

http://www.macrumors.com/images/macrumorsthreadlogo.gif

According to multiple sources, orders placed early for Apple's 2G iPod Shuffle are beginning to ship from factories in China. Apple announced the redesigned miniature music player on September 12th at its "It's Showtime" event, with a shipping date in October.

If a recent report from ThinkSecret holds true, Apple may be experiencing extremely high demand for the player, as reportedly Apple's retail stores have been told that shipments to them will be delayed until "mid-November" at the earliest. In addition, resellers such as Amazon are reported to have updated their shipping estimates to November 25th - December 9.

Finally, hope mine comes soon.

Anyone else notice it is shaped exactly like the iPod remote?

Picture.

Edit: If I had read the links to this I would have found that everyone has noticed this. Oops.

Yeah, I wonder how many people will confuse the two.

I don't even think I'm going to get mine until they make one that supports more than 1 playlist.

I'll consider one since it's dirt cheap. A refurbished RED Nano or 5/5.5G sounds nice too.

I don't need one because my nano works great for everything I do with an iPod, but it tempts me anyway because it's so cheap and such a little marvel of engineering. IMO achieving that microscopic design is one of the coolest things apple has done in years.

shuffle = aluminum, remote = white.
It's that easy :-)

Does the new Shuffle come with the old earphones like in the picture?

I'm sooo glad I got a "stick" iPod Shuffle than the "square" -- it's easier to hold onto and less easy to lose -- or to misplace and accidentally step on.

the new shuffle seems pretty sweet.. but one of my favorite things about the old shuffle is that i use it as my flash drive.

...i'm looking forward to when apple makes a shuffle that is the size of a usb plug

I had mine on order since day 1, so I hope it'll be here ASAP. My 1G 1GB shuffle just kicked the bucket too, and I'm not sure if it's a software or hardware issue. I know iTunes 7 killed a few, but since ther's no recall, I don't have much recourse I suppose.

I'm looking forward to clip-and-go music.. The necklace thing was ok, but it gets in the way at the gym.

Umm.. just checked my order at the Store and this is what I saw.. can you spot the weirdness?

Haha, very nice. What does it say on your credit card statement? That would be rather hilarious if they actually only charged you eight bucks.

That's because the day after October 31st is November 1st, not October 32nd!
