Mac mini: optimal display resolution via vga to samsung 26 hd lcd
Recently bought a mac mini to replace my old ibook (g4) and have hooked it up to my samsung le26r51 lcd tv with just a standard vga cable (is it worth spending £30 on a dvi-hdmi?)
was wondering what the optimal display resolution is for using it as a sorta media centre mac?
i use my mac to display movies created with mac the ripper..
mac mini has 1.83 core duo

If you have an LCD, always use the maximum supported resolution. Otherwise it will look terrible.
If your HDTV is 1366x768, then use 1366x768. If it is 1980x1080, then use 1980x1080.

I have the 40" version of that TV and it works great connected to my iMac via the VGA dongle at 1366x768 which is its native resolution.
It does take a few minutes to "sync" to the iMac though... For the first little while there's a little "blurriness" which is hardly noticeable from the couch, but it goes away quickly.
I expect to have an iTV hooked up to it early next year...
