After rocking to some AC/DC, i got a message in my hotmail to make money by stuffing envelops, while damn MSN Messanger about knocked me over when it made that stupid noise that it does. I was wondering if there is a way to mute system sounds when itunes is playing, but automaticly restore them when itunes is exited. I doubt its possible, and i can always manually turn them off, but i was hoping someone knows how to do this automaticly.

yeah that would be something i'd love, was listening to the Charlton v Liverpool commentary and had my iMac plugged into my stereos, cranked real loud and nearly had a heart attack when i got an email, forgot to quit entourage beforehand...

your going to need to disable the individual sounds in each problem. For instance in Mail.app you cna disable the new mail ping andi 'm sure you can turn off any noises that you like. (i don't use messanger.
