iMac G5 CD stuck - what could cause it?
Hi- Thanks to this forum I found a way to get a stuck CD out by getting in to the Firmware.
What worries me, is why it did it in the first place and that it could be a precursor to a mechanical problem withe the drive.
It was a music CD with a 'click here for OSX' for a an extra video that did it.
Could it just be a dodgy CD, or could it be the the drive on the way out?

Things don't work right sometimes, so things get stuck. It happens. You can't expect everything to work perfect every time.

You could restart with the mouse button held down.
Maybe the click for Mac OS X software is crap and hangs in the system in a kind of limbo knowing it needs the CD but not being able to report why.
Well gentlemen, a great deal of money has been invested in this project...
...and we can't allow it to fail.
