The first 3 tries to open it (always 3) results in a crash. The forth time takes me to wall paper. The screensaver then works fine in preview but doesn't load. Ideas? I am brand new so be kind gentle and simple please. Thanks. Mark

I have a somewhat similar issue. The screen saver worked fine with it's default settings. But when I set the number of rows to the minimum, it immediately crashed and every time I click on the screen saver in System Preferences, it crashes. OS X offers to restore the program to it's default settings and this worked once, but after I fiddled with the setting to the minimum again, it has continued to be broken.
 
you just need to go into the library preferences for you account and delete the preferences file, this fixed my problem and i think mine was the same as yours.

Thanks. This sounds promising. What is "library preferences" and where do do I find it?
