Just curious as to what may be going on with my hard drive... from day to day, without downloading anything, my hard drive space changes by about 4GB. i do some minor data entry etc in excel but nothing that could account for such large changes. and it does go back and forth. Any idea's? could it be harmful?
Regards.

Your OSX is ontinually writing virtual memory files to your hard drive and erasing them. Also, many different programs have temp files that they write while they have documents open. Don't sweat it, remember to leave ample free space on your boot drive (don't let it get much below 10 Gb freespace) and you'll be fine.
