A St. Louis man was shot to death Sunday night over a warm beer, police said.

St. Louis police say a woman shot her husband, who was about 70 years old, four to five times in the chest after he tried giving her a warm can of Stag beer.

Police said the wife admitted shooting him about 5:40 p.m. in the kitchen of their home in the 5100 block of Terry Avenue. Police said the home had no electricity at the time.

Homicide detectives would not identify the man. The woman, whom police also did not identify, was taken into custody.

Warm beer is bad, but too cold is just as bad. My roomate forgot about a bottle in the freezer once...that was a mess.

Not quite enough to shoot somebody over...unless it was REALLY warm. 🙄
 
Well, alrighty then...almost makes the shootings over consoles and sneakers seem logical...yikes - what a world we live in...
 
I drink beer enough that warm or cold doesn't matter. Of course I prefer it chilled, but I have downed many, many cans of warm Budweiser and Miller products.
 
Micro or macro brew?!

What the heck is Stag? Sounds macro to me.

Maybe she is a micro drinker and Stag was an insult to her.

Just a thought!
 
No mention though how warm the beer actually was? 11-13°C is optimum temperature for a nice beer... 🙂

I would be quite mad if someone tried giving me a warm "Stag" (which is probably along the lines of Milwaukee's Best.)
Give me Sam (or Guinness) or give me Death! 😛
 
Yeah I always get a bit nervous when I put beer in the freeze, worried that I'll forget it like that can of Pepsi...

you and me both, nothing wrong with a warm beer.


This just sounds like the last straw of an ongoing fight. If it wasn't the warm beer, it would have been over the newspaper or TV channel. If she didn't have a gun, she would have used a knife or rat poison.

at the end of the day does temp really effect your enjoyment of a Bud or Miller?

Oh man...beer in the freezer turns out bad, especially if you don't realize it has been freezing and crack it open...especially with cans. That's a hell of a mess right there.

Maybe she was offended he offered her "a man's beer"? 😉
