WoW Patch 2.0.1 = Yay!

Mac

* Added support for Multi-Threaded OpenGL on Intel Macs running OS X 10.4.8 or higher. Depending on hardware, scene and graphical settings, this can raise frame rates up to a factor of 2X.
* Improved video hardware detection and default settings, especially with Intel video.
* Vertex Animation Shaders have been disabled for systems with Intel video.
* Improved iTunes key-binding feature for smoothness and track name display.
* Fixed a bug where Tutorial Tips would not be marked as viewed correctly on PowerPC Macs.
* Fixed a rare crash bug in the audio code.
* Improved support for Weather Shaders.
* Added support for changing the mouse sensitivity in WoW. Previously, the Mac version ignored the value from the slider in the Interface Options dialog. :]

Have you tried playing WoW on an Intel machine....? Is it better?

OMG!

I cannot believe the improvement the new patch has made.

My count says 10 - 12 fps all the time, like it did before the patch is OS X. But I'm getting a good 30 consistently, even when going into a new city.

And this is with 512 ram....

*drools* Go Blizzard!

Wow this patch is full of bugs. I've been kicked off a good five times already.

I haven't. I think some servers are more stable than others.

Demon Soul seems to be good. Which are you on? Are you kicked off when it goes down?

I'm on Shadow Council and it seems to be working well. I get much improved frame rates inside of cities – before they'd seem a little jerky to me but now they're smooth.

BAD:
This took me 3 hours to download with cable internet. I've been kicked off 3X. My add-ons do not work with this update.

Good:
Some of the new spells with my lvl 60 priest are nice. The looking for group area is better now. They have added a bag to your bank.
And maybe I'm just seeing things, but on my G5 iMac with 1.5GB RAM 128MB video card the game looks better, sharper, and spells look alot better when being cast (but no noticeable increase on FPS).

I'm currently downloading this on my MacBook (512MB RAM) so we'll see how it does on that. I was getting horrible FPS on that before.

The FPS on your macbook should be glorious once again. Or maybe just for the first time anyway.

I would say OS X and XP are equal now. Bye bye XP partion.

My druid's spells are more detailed...

I'm on Runetotem. Seems to be better now. Hope they work the issues out.

What add-ons were you using? I pretty much use my old Dell as a dedicated WoW machine, 'cause of all the add-on options (Titan, Auctioneer, CTmods, etc.). I would love to get back to playing WoW on my G5 iMac.

I am currently playing WOW on my 24" iMac (nvidia 7600 256mb) 2 gig ram

I have all settings maxed out and at highest resolution widescreen. I have only had a quick session in the cemetry in Duskwood.....I was amazed at the clarity and was getting a steady framerate of 30fps +

Are both processors already being taken advantaged of on the windows side, or is there even more room for improvement on windows?

The OpenGL graphics code was improved. XP uses DirectX.
