I'm in the market for a display for my computer(2nd Display) that will double as something to watch movies on and play Xbox 360 on. I'm stuck between 2 possible choices. A Samsung 42" HDTV with a resolution of 1280x720 and a BenQ 24" Monitor with a resolution of 1920x1200 resolution. They both can output 1080p, which kind of confuses me, because I figured the Samsung could only do 720p. If you want to see the link its right here:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...23-4228&SRCCODE=GOOGLEBASE&CMP=OTC-GOOGLEBASE. The BenQ is $800 new and the Samsung is $850 refurbished. I want this to last me for a long time and eventually will be my TV at college in the upcoming years. Another question is: if I hook my MacBook Pro to the HDTV, will it output at 1920 x 1080 or only 1280 x 720? I would really appreciate any help as I'm not very knowlegable when it comes to HDTVs. Thanks🙂

it will be 1280x720...

the HDTV may accept a 1080 signal, but it will only display 720p. If the BenQ works with the 360, then I'd go with that.
