Can anyone recommend a webcam and software to enable me to watch my garden while I am away on holiday?

What I'm hoping to do is have a photo posted to a web page every few hours (or more often?) so that I can see if its getting too dry and phone someone to ask them to go water my plants!

I have a G4 Cube running OS X 10.2.5 and a broadband modem which I can leave connected to the net all the time. The window by my cube overlooks the garden and so I'm hoping I can just point it out of the window.

This should be quite easy I guess. Does anyone have any advice or experience of what may go wrong?

Cheers.

I hope somebody answers this, because I would like to have some kind of web cam added to my website.

I don't think your going to get the resolution that you want. Yes you will be able to see that big things are turning brown, but none of the fine detail that would head off any major problems.

Why not just pay a neighbor to do it on a regular bases until you return?
