Change .mac account name?

Is it possible to change my .mac account name (via either control panel or support through Apple), or will I have to wait until the account expires and sign up under a new account?

I don't think you can, I'm afraid.
These accounts are permanent AFAIK. Even expired .Mac accounts will stay there, waiting to be reactivated again.
So I think you have to create a new account.
