Is there any free imaging software out there?

Does anyone know of any free imaging/photo software out there that can reverse the image on a photo? It doesn't work in iPhoto or I just can't figure it out
 
As in flip horizontal? I thought iPhoto could do that, Photo Booth definitely can.

Install X11 on your computer (should be on the discs that came with it) then download GIMP, it's a pretty good manipulation program.

I want the works on the picture to be reversed. I don't have Photo Booth on my PB. Is there anything else I can use.
 
Just use Preview. Open the image, click on tools, image corrections, and then select the White point to black, and the black point to white. Graphics converter is awesome (and free as well), but for inverting, Preview will do.

Ummm...oh yeah... You download the software, and it reminds you that you've had it for so many days. Then, after 30 days, it gives you the splash screen and counts down from 30. Basically, you're expected to pay, but you don't have to. I've been using the same copy of the software since I first downloaded it in July. To each his own I guess. The OP was just looking to invert an image.
