need wireless router for appletv?

I have a mac mini which has wireless capabilities inside. when i purchase the appletv, am i required to purchase a wireless router also? I currently, am on no router at all.

I didn't know if the wireless mechanism inside the mini can communicate to the wireless mechanism in the appletv.

feedback please.

no need for the router...you can setup a network between your mini and appletv with no problem
