mp3 conversion?

did any one ever figure out if there was a conversion tool to change mp3 to acc/mp4? i know i know it well sound worse and all.. all i want to know if there were.. like change a high rate mp3 to a low rate acc..

There's a product I saw listed on ipoding.com, called AAChoo, put out by Ovolab. Visit their site here..

It seems to be just what the doctor ordered!

iTunes!

open iTunes and go under advance and there is a option to convert selection to AAC. Pick the song you want and choose this option. I think it will use the settings in your iTunes preferences.

my only option i have for tunes is to convert to mp3 not acc or mp4

make sure that you have itunes set to import as aac in the preferences, then check the menu.

To be able to convert iTunes Music Store AACs to MP3s you need first to burn the AACs to a CD then rip them off the CD as MP3. That's what I heard.

Just a quick "dumb" question here.

Are you using iTunes4? I'm sure you are (since you want to use AACs), but I had to ask.

iTunes 4:

Edit > Preferences > Importing > Import Using: [select "AAC Encoder"]

If you must change your mp3s to AAC then do so. Select a song, and convert it.

Select song --> Advanced > Convert Selection to AAC

You are better off doing an AAC conversion straight from the source rather than from the mp3.

thank you. i know i am but i dont want to go and re rip 30 cd's

Well you may as well leave them in mp3 format, it really doesn't tale that long to re-rip cd's and its worth it. Converting straight to AAC from MP3 will do nothin gbut give you bad quality AAC files, worse than the MP3 quality. I re-ripped 100 cd's and it didn't take as long as I expected.

remember...

you will not save that much space converting to a 128 AAC from a 160 or 192 mp3. You will save space, but IMHO not enough to justify the bad quality that you will occur from this process. Now if it is just someone talking (such as teaching tapes and stuff) go for it cause it really doesn't matter. But for music CD's just leave them in mp3.
