how do i extract .par files

ok, i may be just stupid but i downloaded a bunch of files and they look like this:
movie.par
movie.p01
movie.p02
etc..

k now i have no idea how to extract them. i tried stuffit and unrarx but they dont seem to work. maybe i am doing it wrong im not sure. any help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah i also have another set of files that look like:
movie2.par
movie2.p#1
movie2.p#2
etc.

and i also have no idea what to do w/them.

those are just parity files. you can open them with unrarX but you need the .rar files to actually get the movie. the parity files only check and make sure that the RAR files are bit perfect. although i believe if you are missing some files, it has the ability to fill in the missing data.

ok so do u have any idea as to what i should do, like how do i use unrarx b/c its not working right for me
