Firewire 800 for the iPod

Is it true that the 5th Gen. iPod can not use firewire? What about in the near future, do you think they'll make it firewire 800 compatible... I have an empty useless slot on the back of my iMac that needs some attention!!

yea just usb 2.0. kinda sucks. i remember on my emac, it took like 12 hrs to get 8000+ songs on my ipod via usb 1.1

i dont think firewire will make it back into the ipod in a while if ever
