I have my RAM maxed out in my iMac, according to Apple, but I've seen some people say that they actually have more than 512 MB. And Crucial.com sells 512 MB sticks for my model iMac.

Will my computer actually support more than 512 MB? If so, how high can I go?

thanks for the help!

I suppose you could put a 1gig stick in there, I know they sell a 1gig so-dimm at crucial.com. On the imac, are both sticks removable? or is it like the ibook where one is soldered in and unremovable?

no they're both removable. I don't really have the cash for the 1 gig sticks. But it would be possible to put two 512 MB sticks in? would OS X actually recognize and use all of it?
