When I try to run this old game called Rescue!(a star trek game) I get an error stating "Unable to find sufficient memory. Please restart Rescue!" I am trying to run this on a Power Mac 7500/100 with 48 megs of ram installed.

This game runs on my Performa 430 with a 16mhz processor and 10 MB of ram.

What is the deal, and why won't this more powerful machine run this game?

Thanks in advance.

IIRC you can do a Get Info on the game and allocate more memory. I haven't done this for years so don't remember exactly what to do.

I tried that. Still did the same thing. The error is a error with the game as the box that pops up has the game icon next to it.

depending on how old the game is it might have trouble running on a machine with that MUCH RAM. I seem to remember "legacy" (IE: pre system-6) apps not wanting to run on system 7+ machines with lots of RAM. Could be pulling this out of somewhere though.
