So I have decided I am going to buy a Macbook pro

15" Matte screen
2 gigs ram

The only question I have is that if I go with the 200gig 4200rpm drive, I am going to suffer a performance hit compared to the 5400rpm 160gig?

Or will I even notice.

Will use MBP for ilife, photoshop cs, flash8, dreamweaver8, fireworks8, web browsing and maybe the occasional game.

Thanks

C

Interesting stats. However, the point is weighted to support the slower drives. As the percentage of use increases for the slower drives, they will once again succumb to the pressure of being slower. This seems like a self-fullfilling prophesy.

For my use, I always have an external 500 GB FW800 drive. I do not like having my laptop drive over 60% full, with the remaining amount as 'working' space. It then gets moved to the external drive. My preference only. There are many different needs/preferences.

No problems here on my 200GB drive. I run Final Cut Studio and Photoshop on a regular basis, and find that the extra 40GB is invaluable.
