Smile 25 years of x86 and 1 billion units shiped

Cnet has an ariticle about today(June 9th) marks the 25 year anaversity of the x86 line of chips............THe first x86 chip was release on this day in 1978, called the 8086 it ran at a blazeing 5mhz....the p4 3.06ghz chip today is over 600 times faster than it.........Earler this year intel passed the 1billion mark for x86 chips shipped.......

Just thought u guys would like to know...

Before the switch to Billions and Billions served, they used to have the number on the sign (24 billion served... etc). I think that stopped at 100 billion mark, IIRC.

I think I have a Apache shirt somewhere that says "Trillions and Trillions served" or something...
