Art the reason I say this is partly in that the kind of films I would choose to watch are usually a bit 'artier', for want of a better word, than more mainstream cinema. But I do think films I've generally seen from Europe and Japan have particularly interesting and well considered photography and imagery. Having said that, I'm a bit of a fan of bleak Scandinavian/Northern European films that nothing much happens in, so that might be partly why.
