how much would i get for the following config:

PMac MDD (aug2002) + noise pack;
DP 1G w/1MB L3
768MB PC2700
80GB HDD
GeForce 4MX w/32MB DDR
SuperDrive
+
Sony E230 17" Monitor
 
OK, I'll take a stab.

If I needed a computer I'd offer you $1200 or so. Dunno much about that monitor.

But right now may not be the best time to be selling.

No reference to price in that statement... your point was a little hidden I think 😉
 
If the monitor is a tube, you'll get less. If it's LCD, you'll get more. Sorry guys, that's an excellent system, and considering what I paid for my iMac, you should start the bidding at about $1600 - $1800, IMO. If nobody takes it, then go lower. But don't settle for $800, my God. You're better off keeping it.

Current prices have almost nothing to do with the perceived value of a used machine. The CRT monitor might be worth $200-$300 to the right person. It is very arguable that this is a "great machine" to most people. Overpriced since its inception, yes.

FYI-

i just sold my DP450, 80G, 1.75G RAM, Radeon, clear/graphite apple 17" CRT, QPS Burner, Delta 66 w/ Omni I/O, and SCISI Card

for $1400. although i paid almost $5000 for this a few years ago...

id say it was a pretty good deal.

How did you get 1.75 gigs of ram into your computer? I have the dual 533 and can only expand to 1.5 gigs. Am I missing something?

no one in the know, ie, the people who'd pay more

i'm a master of subtlety, friend. 😉

in reality, you should be able to get about 14-1800 for it right now, i'd think

sell sooner than later is the point

The Gigabit Ethernet is rated @ 2GB RAM.
 
Last October I sold a Digital Audio 733 PowerMac for over $1400 on eBay. People will pay good money for that machine oin eBay. Heck, in December I got $950 out of a 400 Mhz Pismo PowerBook.

I'd say don't take less than $1500.

he has a great machine, the superdrive adds great value and pushes it closes to the middle powermac config. only thing that sucks is that crappy video card.

thanx alot guys - as for the vid card - i needed to cut cost where i could. I needed the HDD and SD as i make consumer demo DVDs.
Also i bought in aussie dollars (and will sell at that too) so everything is doubled in raw numbers.
As for the screen, i am afraid it is a tube - albeit a brilliant one.
In australia people are still slow to take up LCDs because we dont get many good dead-pixel and mainly dead-subpixel warranties.

Anyways - it would be on ebay and since there are not many newer dpp macs on ebay i think i would get around AUD3100 for the whole lot.
If you want US dollar - at time of posting fron MacOS 10.2 Calculator that is USD2000.
