Mac Pro 2.66 or Power Mac 2.5

I'm considering purchase Mac Pro 2.66 or Power Mac 2.5 quod . I use computer for recording ( Digital Performer 5.1 ) and PS2.
Power Mac 2.5 is discontinued , a used one on ebay is about $2000 , so is worth to save $500 , and buy 2.5 or better to go for 2.66 . Thanks for an answer Bassman

Well it depends on your view of universal binary.

go with the intel if you see this as a purchase you will be happy with for more than a 1-2 years.

You will see the non-intel optimized software slowly fade away into the ether.

2.66GHz Quad Mac Pro Is $2199 Refurbished Like New

2.66GHz Quad Mac Pro Is $2199 Refurbished Like New. I have the Quad G5. I say buy the 2.66GHz Quad Mac Pro refurbished. It comes with a new warranty and is like new for less than new. Many come with extra ram too.

Mac Pro. Period. It'll last you much longer as it's a current technology, G5's are in the past, purchase in the direction Apple is headed, Intel.

The G5 (PPC) is dead. If you can, go Intel. If necessary do as Multimedia said and go the refurb route.

You can find Powermac G5s for cheap on craigslist.org. Perhaps you could snatch one up from there for close to $1000.

Good job going Mac Pro. This is way more future-proof than the PowerMac G5.
