When my girlfriend and I moved into our apartment, we went IKEA shopping.

Our coffee table has been discontinued, but it looks sort of similar to this one, but with a divider in the middle

Our dining table set has been discontinued, and I don't have any pictures on hand.

BRÄDA Laptop support

KRISTER Computer desk

=============
Not from Ikea, but from Staples that works really well with the Dokument Desk Collection and PRÖJS Deskpad

Gemini L-Desk

I'd need a 3 page post to put the rest of my stuff from Ikea

I'm getting this Gustav desk in black for my wife's iMac. Hopefully a new black iMac in the next month or so.

And we have these Ektorp couches in Leaby Red.

IKEA is a very affordable furniture store. Very urban, modern, and sleek. Shopping at IKEA is NOT that difficult.

how long have you had yours, and how well have they held up? i'm especially curious about the cushions along the back...have they kept their shape well?

my husband and i are in need of a new sofa and i love the look of the Ektorp...it's just that we had a sofa with loose cushions along the back and they've gone all lumpy and deformed. i wouldn't want that to happen again.

no, it really isn't. methinks someone's just a little bit disgruntled.

i went to the College Park MD store shortly after it opened with a huge list of all the things i needed...a desk, coffee table, assorted kitchen items, a quilt cover...and i left 100% empty handed because everything i needed was out of stock. i actually cried when i got back to the car because i was so upset. i wasted a total of 4 hours of driving time plus the two hours spent in the store. i ended up getting the desk (Mikael and the add-on unit) and everything else at the Woodbridge VA store a few weeks later.

and after all that...i still *love* Ikea.

I never tire of seeing that setup Wes. Beautiful!

And I can't wait to see how it looks with your MBP and external display.

Thanks man!
I can't wait either, but it's gonna be 2-3 months still, but it's gonna be worth it.
I'm settling for a 23" ACD, so I need some time to save up.

Nice setup Wes!

I meant to post some stuff from my room the other time, but was too lazy to tidy up. Plus, my room is a hodgepodge of random stuff right now.

The room is small, but mostly I have too much crap.

From IKEA: bed, chair, small narrow commode, and random corner bookcase thing that I found for $3 there once. I don't really like white sheets either but those were on sale for $10, whole set, and 400 thread count, so I really couldn't resist.

And the corner bookcase is full of DVD cases, mostly cases. Most of the DVDs are in sleeves or binders here and there.

When I get home I'll post my tv room setup. Most of the furniture is from iKea except the couch. I personally don't think any of their couches or "cushion" stuff is comfy, but they make great frames and shelves.

The closes to me is Montreal, about a 2 hr drive.

Well I just moved into my new apartment and needed some cheap, yet stylish furniture. Good news, there's an Ikea only 5 minutes away from me! So...what do you think I did? I got myself a credit card, and went on a shopping spree!

I'm guilty of this too, it just seems this community is very materialistic, FYI, I only own one piece of Ikea furniture, I get the rest of my stuff from the dumpster, not cuz I'm poor, but because most of it's still in great shape and people just don't need it anymore.
I agree.

I see your point, but I look at these threads to get ideas for setting up my Mac, arranging the furniture in my room, and also, I just enjoy looking at what other people do to their home. I just like design.

Can I ask what size the exercise ball is? I have one, but it's not big enough to sit at a desk with (I think it's 65cm?).

So has anyone figured out a solution for getting some sort of hutch/shelving system for the Galant????

I'm thinkning about a Galant combo to replace my aging Ikea corner desk with hutch. I can't recycle this hutch for use on a Galant since it's falling apart.

Only two drawbacks I see to the Galant system. 1) No hutch of any kind available 2) No way to hide wires... no drop-leaf or other backing to hide things.

I was also looking at the Bush Advantage series. They've got a nice corner desk and hutch combo, but it's pricey.....

I like Galant because it's cheap and I can use different combos to get what I want.
