Im looking to get a PDA

Im looking to get a PDA. I really like the Sony ones. They are slim and look very nice. Almost as nice as an Apple one would look 🙂 Has anyone used them before? What are your thoughts on them? I also like the Sharp one that run Linux but its a bit expensive for me. I would love to beabe to use the terminal in it... and connect via serial port or something... but I just cant justify spending $500.00 on an organizer.
 
I recently got a Sony S360. A basic PalmOS unit. It's pretty nice. Sadly, most Sony's will not sync with Mac without the use of The Missing Sync. But with that add on software, they work well. OS X syncing will be supported one month after the release of the final Palm Desktop for OS X.

I like this unit becuase it has a real backlight--not one of those reverse backlights like the Palm and Handspring units.

Apple PDA

You know... I would love to get one... but its just not comming out. I am really hopping that Apple would bring back the Newton better than ever .... but sadly... I dont see it happening any time soon. Maybe Palm and Apple will work together on a project. That would be kind of cool.

Tinkerbonk the Bong-fairy just told me Apple will be buying the rights to Nikon's original F body SLR and fitting a 10 Megapixel back to it! 😱

I guess I frogot what side of the camp you were on when it came to the Apple PDA. Some people still think that its going to happen.

I have heard some good things about the sony's arround the office. Mybe I will pick one up after all. I need to get a new HD... so maybe I will wait till after that.

thats cool dude. it happens around here. i should not be surprised. i also forget not everyone knows my view on apples suppose new pda....eyelikeart knows though. forgive me evildead for assuming you should have interpreted my sacrcasm...as it wasnt exactly clear.

i almost had to buy me some asbestos underware....for not explaining myself properly. i better watch out next time with ya aye! eyelikeart is the all seeing eye. 😀
 
I now that I think about it...

Now I remeber your sand on the PDA... I know eyelikeart's stand on that..... he loves to jump in on any talk about it.

future PDA's

I proudly count myself among those who think it will only be a question of when, and not if, Apple releases a PDA (or some iteration thereof).

I think they ignore this vital element of the digital lifestyle to the detriment of themselves and those of us committed to the Mac platform.

Evil...you'll soon experience a PDA as done by someone other than Apple. Perhaps then you'll understand the dissapointment of those who need such functionality done well.
