silly questions....but i need to ask....i believe i dragged the "applocations" header from the finder window to right infront of the spotlight seach bar inside the same finder window...and now i have the applications icon infront of that spotlight seach bar....how can i get rid of that.....also on my desktop, the only think i have actually on there is my Macintosh HD icon, yet when i go in to finder and look on "desktop" its not showing and says 0 items....the hd is still accessable....it just doesnt for some reason show up on the finder window under desktop....is there something i can do for that?
thanks

ctrl-click on it and pick "remove item" from the menu that appears.

That's okay. While there is a Desktop folder that corresponds to your desktop, drive icons aren't really folders so they don't show up there. There are preferences in the Finder where you can make the drive icons show up (or not) in the top half of the Finder bar, or on the desktop, as you like.
