An unconfirmed photo that appeared on Appleinsider's forums... but relatively consistent with rumors.

One anonymous report claims this is it... but there continue to be doubts.

Update Image Pulled for unknown reasons. While it is still unknown if the photo is real or fake... we would prefer you not posting the image in the forums

Looks plausable enough, but I don't see any ports on the front, not even the headphone jack. And is that one slot-loading drive on top? Wouldn't they stick with dual drives? Hmmm

Seriously though, if this *is* it, then I love it. Has a serious techno-gothic feel to it.. I could see these sitting on peoples desks in the movie "Brazil".

I kinda like the case (I think it looks sleek), but I don't see an eject button for the ROM drive. Maybe it's heat activated?

IMHO, I hope either it is a design that looks way better in the flesh (flesh? This is a Mac...), or if this is not the case (oops - excuse me!) then looks and performance are inversely proportional.

It does adhere to the rumor of the handles remaining, although they would be less obtrusive. Here you have it.

I too would be upset if this was the new case. But we'll see depending on what Apple Legal does.

And remember, it is natural to dislike change. Most people's first reaction is to dislike it.

I hope not. If it is they're definitely going after switchers as this type of plain box is hot right now (modded of course) with PC enthusiasts. I think it sucks.

I'm sure it will look much cooler when it is on the podium and rises up like when the G4 iMac made its debut.

Whatever call I make here, I'm sure to look like a fool on the 23rd, but I find this picture fairly believable. Reminiscent of the xserve, handles... and it's a fairly bad picture, so we're probably not getting the best impression of it. Given what's been said so far about what this case might look like, it's pretty much as I envisaged, only more elegant and Apple-y. And even though it is just a standard-shape box, it's got something

Oh, and before everyone goes calling it fugly, go read the thread with the leaked PowerMac MDD pics! Makes for hilarious reading

My first reaction was I hate it, but it's since grown on me.

I'm not sure I understand it all though, someone took a picture, then smuggled it out? Whys the picture such bad quality? How long have we had colour film? How long have we had digital cameras the size of a matchbox?
