I booted up my macbook today in my car on the way to class. I closed the case, while it was still loading up. Once I got it into class and opened it...I had no wallpaper, and couldn't change it. Also, I couldn't right click. I fixed this problem by logging out and logging back in. My question is, is this a common problem? Do I need to always leave the top open until it loads completely? Thanks.

Leave the lid open until it boots all the way up. Basically you put your computer to sleep before it could even boot, thus your issues.
