Apple TV's Show Up at Target (Photos)

Skoker submitted these photos of the Apple TV, now at retail Target stores. An earlier report had indicated that Target would begin offering the Apple TV by the end of this month.

The nano display at my store, all dummy units, of course, will be mine the moment it comes down.

No clue what I'll do with it, but it would look pretty cool...somewhere.

What a lovely display. ...The bundled up cord really completes it.

It looks like there is still space for a TV needing to be installed.

I noticed that Bond and Bond on Queen St in Auckland also have a huge Apple TV display set up at the front entrance. As you walk in, you almost get knocked over by the plasma screen it's hooked up to.

I was wondering what was in the display boxes at my store. Although, I thought the set date was for the beginning of May.

Are you sure it's not getting sent back?

There's always the possibility, but I have never seen any signs or fixtures get sent back. Entire displays are routinely tossed when the item is going away.

Entire furniture displays are pitched when they are no longer carried. Strollers and other infant furniture displays are all trashed. When the Apple Hi-Fi went away, the entire display unit, including the working unit with a video iPod, was tossed (meaning thrown in the compactor and crushed).

Things like that, we certainly aren't allowed to keep, but signs and non-working fixtures are fair game, AKAIK. As for the nano display, the Singing Specialist did ask me if I wanted it when it goes away.

This just lowers the overall feeling of mac products.

I remember when you had to exclusively go to a apple store to purchase anything mac.

Now just walking into a store that sells cheap electronics and food
gives you the ability to come out with an awesome mac apple logo infected product? There is something wrong with this picture IMO.

And lets not get startedat how amazing im sure target will have the display setup & the knowledgeable staff with a proper answer to whatever question you may have regarding the product.

When was that? Apple products have been (and are) available at all sorts of electronic retailers. Sure, big chains have had an on-again, off-again relationship to Apple products, but it's harldy the case that Apple stores have been the sole purveyors of Apple products.

So I assume they chucked the Wii display too (Ours is still wrapped waiting to be sent back). Display strollers and display furniture aren't high dollar stuff so of course they get chucked. The Hi-Fi display was most likely suppose to go back to Apple so that the store gets credited back. Sounds like your store is losing money by not giving certain units back, especially working ones.

Well, I did read the e-mail that said to toss it.

The Wii Display is still waiting, since it's supposed to move in-line where the Gamecube unit currently sits.

That's because you're a silly elitist who stakes your personal identity on what purchases you make. Get over yourself. Its good for Apple. That means its good for Apple's customers.

Ahhh. I was wondering what was going on with that annoying Wii display (it's taking room up in my backroom).

I'm really surprised corporate said to chuck the iPod Hi-Fi display. Oh well, it's not my job to know what the specialist is doing ... I've got enough on my plate daily anyway (Flow Team Key Carrier).

Actually, what's "correct" boils down to a matter of "house style."

Read the section labeled "Apostrophe" in this Guide to Grammer.

The use of the apostrophe isn't as common, but it is used in the real world of publishing. I did some editing on technical documentation and procedures for a government agency not long ago that required the use of apostrophes, etc. I didn't argue the issue or refuse to comply.... (I did want to continue to get paid for my work!)
