Have been debating for a while and read all the posts about waiting vs going ahead and decided to go for it. Never had a Mac but went to the Getting Started class at my store and was hooked. Ordered from Macconnection to save tax and take advatage of the $150 rebate so have to wait a few days to enjoy. Looking forward to exploring the world of Mac. Thanks to all for advice.🙂

Congrats, I'm still waiting on my first Mac purchase. Although I find it funny how everyone relates the switch to a deadly "plunge". Going from Mac/OS X to PC/Windows is like a plunge, not the other way around. 😀 I know you didn't mean it like that ... I'm just .. bored on my PC. 🙁

great! enjoy your new computer and be sure to post here with any questions.

just out of curiosity: was the orientation at your Apple store helpful? i've heard mixed reviews.

Welcome to the Mac World! I think you'll love your MBP. I too was a PC user, but in 2003, I bought a PowerBook laptop just to play with Macs after my iPod purchase, and quickly fell in love with Apple laptops. I think you'll probably feel the same way...

Enjoy, and again, welcome.
