Apple iSight Web Cam

Apple just released the iSight webcam for iChat AV.

Quote:
iSight is a state-of-the-art video camera that’s the easiest way to video conference with your colleagues, friends and family over broadband. Featuring an autofocusing autoexposure F/2.8 lens which captures high-quality pictures even in low lighting, iSight also includes a dual-element microphone in its stylish compact aluminum body.
At this early date, there are no reviews available for this product... but Steve made it look so darn fun!

Cost: $149.00

despite people's complaints about the price... I still think it's on the high end of reasonably priced.

I will end up getting one probably for the sheer amusement value of it.

I'd like to have one of these, but I'm waiting until I get DSL or cable. Until then, I will try out the audio part on dial-up modem.

Just recieved mine, same packaging as an ipod, just different graphics.
Quality is suburb. Tested it at work on the LAN and was shocked by the quality of the picture and audio. No lag, worked just as Steve's demo. Even at full screen on a 21" sony, i was in awe. No setup, just as you would expect from Apple.
Worth the 150 bucks, and free shippong from the apple store!

Talking I won an iSight

I was at the Apple Store Grand Opening on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago on Friday and won an iSight (one of 20 given away, with thousands of visitors there). Haven't had much time to fiddle with it, but it doesn't appear to work with my iChat AV as I have a 500 mHz iBook and the packaging states that a 600 mHz G3 is necessary. However, I can use it with QuickTime Broadcaster.

I won one of those nifty things at the store opening also!

They're great! Good quality, no set up (duh), and really fun.
