Shadowbane Free

Well, i recently discovered that shadowbane by Ubisoft has turned completely free.
Now, that is not my problem though
I wanted to download it and i first tried fileplanet, yet i kept getting an HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden error once i clicked on the "download now button"...
that did not stop me though, i even went into the debug menu and changed my iser agent to Windows MSIE 6.0 hoping that that would work..
it didn't...
Now i go to plan B...using a torrent file
only problem is, NONE EXIST for mac version.
Can someone please help me here, like give me a different download site er sumthin, i would appreciate it a ton...

Hmmm. just downloaded it a couple minutes ago on safari.
Don't know what made it work so I will give you all the steps:

Step 1: download Safari Enhancer

Step 2: open it and change "Safari should identify itself to websites as" to "IE 6 for Windows"

Step 3: log in and choose a free/paid server and click download now

Step 4: ignore warning box and click "click here to continue to public queue"

step 5: when it tells you it is ready click "download now"

Make sure you are in Safari Enhancer, not safari. And I am using 10.4.
If this doesn't work I could just send the file to you, but that would be a lot slower, PM me if needbe.

There is a 10.3 version on the site, Safari enhancer 2.5.4 for 10.3 "Panther" but I am not sure if has the same options. and even if it did, there is no guarantee that it would work the same way on fileplanet.

There's no less than 2 separate OSX (and OS9!) browser options listed and officially supported on that page, plus links to download the relevant browsers.

What more do you want, a free biscuit with each pageview?

Nevermind. Just realised it's a MMORPG.

Eek! (Runs away.)

I downloaded it just fine with the tips above... Thanks!
NOW I can't get it to work!
I opened the MacOSClient and got the error message that I was using an old version of Shadowbane, so I ran the Shadowbane app which downloaded about a GIGs worth of updates and files.
It finished up and restarted.
I had the choice between "Crush" and "Cancel".
I chose "Crush".
The MacXClient and Stuffit Expander started up.
Where should I choose to expand the files?
(MacOS folder: "Miles 3D Software.m3d, Miles Carbon Library, Miles DSP.flt, Miles MP3 Decoder.asi")
I expanded them into the ShadowBane folder I created for the rest of the files.
MacXCilent bounced for about half a minute and then froze... "Application Not Responding"...

Is it because ShadowBane was configured for 10.2 and I'm running 10.4? Who is running it now? Did you have this problem? There aren't ANY support forums on Ubi's pages.

I was SO close too!! Help!

I'm having the same problem, I got everything patched up and all it seems. Then once the patch is finished I have the choice between crush and cancel-I hit crush, then the MacXclient shadowbane opens and it tries to open quicktime for some reason, then the client just sits there and eventually the application stops responding.

Any help would be appreciated...

Not working...

I just downloaded ShadowBane on my MacBook Pro... i have Safari 3... When I finished the long download I double clicked and a window with tons of asian looking fonts and random numbers came up. I used SafariEnhancer to download ShadowBane to identify myself as Internet Explorer.

Someone please help!!

Hey guys. It's been a long time since I posted. It's good to be back.

Through googling, I found a solution, which requires using Firefox.

http://support.fileplanet.com/ics/su...sp?deptID=3232

Click on "Download Help", then "3. Mac users - Read Here - Forbidden 403 error"

Don't forget to change your user agent to IE7 Vista through the User Agent Switcher submenu in the Tools menu in Firefox. After downloading, change it back.
