So once again, we're all going to be all upset because we rumored ourselves into a frenzy, somehow that they didn't all come to fruition is going to be a reason to be mad at Apple.

At the moment I'm typing this, it's rated 0 positive, 2 negative.

So, wonder how long it will take before we start getting "Why didn't they put Santa Rosa in the MB" threads, or "How long until Santa Rosa is in the MB" threads?

Still a premium for black

I would think it's about time that they remove the price premium for the black MacBook.

Also, I thought that Intel had an updated graphics chip. Why isn't it in these MacBooks?

I guess they didn't want to upstage the brand new MBPs (15 and new thin 13.3) due at wwdc.

Makes sense.

i agree about the MacBooks being a good deal... i will probably be buying a laptop this summer for my startup business as an imaging specialist, and eventhough i'd be considered "pro" (or whatever) i believe the stats between macbook and macbook pro are too close to justify the huge price difference...

I had actually started to believe that we might see 'big things' today - but without a special event, or any event for that matter, and with WWDC just a month away, are we really surprised?

If there are insanely great laptop updates on the way, surely Steve will want to announce them on stage?

This isn't it, the store isn't back up yet this is just the macbook page. The Macbooks are too close in specs to the MBPs, meaning they must be done today too.

As someone who has been waiting for about a year for a decent GPU in a MB to buy his first Mac I am severely pissed off.

Why are Apple making the MB so processor powerful while making so pathetic in terms of it's GPU?

For the next six months the MB will be poor compared to every other laptop, as every other one will have SR. Heck, the SR CPUs are cheaper than the old ones so they could've put in a 2.0 and 2.2.

While I'm bummed about no SR or maybe even a 15" model like some people were speculating last night, this is exactly what I needed. A little speed bump to the line so it didn't feel like I was buying a six month old laptop.

I'm making the Mac switch in the very near future. Can't wait to join the club.

Until they fit a DVD writer as standard - it isn't. There are PC laptops out there for half the price of the base spec with DVD writers included. When you sell the package as being for home media, then take away the ability to write DVD's - something is wrong.

I bought the cheapest macbook as a refurb last week - love it to pieces - but I still thing Apple are screwing their customers by not including DVD-writers in every model.

Well now I'm conflicted. I needed to order a new laptop, and technically I was waiting for the next MacBook update to do it, but this one is pretty underwhelming.

I'm fine with the processor speeds, but I want a better graphics card so that I can use Aperture again. Bullocks.
