New iPod Game: Lost

Apple has released a new iPod game by Gameloft S.A. based on the TV show Lost.

Quote:
Join your favorite castaways in their quest to seek the truth and survive in the official iPod game of the hit television series Lost. Help Jack search for dynamite, tend to the wounded, and avoid the black smoke. Relive the crash scene, open the hatch, and ultimately try your best to escape from the Others. Immerse yourself into their mysterious world with authentic settings and a genuine storyline created by the writers behind the hit show.

huh, is that show still popular somewhere in the world?

it's completely lost (ahem) it's audience here.. if that game is available in the UK it won't sell much.

Wow, that is certainly a break from previous games for the platform. I'd be interested to see how they manage the gameplay (but I'm still waiting for this fall/winter for my next upgrade).

It does look very different from previous games - I'd be very curious to see how it plays.

In any case, it's great to see the iPod platform being (slowly!) opened up to 3rd party developers!

I agree. They almost lost me (pun intended, I guess) but they've earned back my loyalty.

I wonder if we'll see more franchise themed games. This could be cool (The Simpsons iPod Game) or not (Pepsi Logo Ball The Game). I'm also wondering if these will be limited releases. I can see them still selling Pac-Man by 2012 but I'm not sure that Lost's popularity will hold up in game form a few years after the show's end.

It's also available on Verizon V-cast phones. I'm assuming its the same game, it looks the same, same company, haven't played it. I'm pretty sure Verizon is only in North America. Sorry UK LOST fans. But iPods are world wide!

Can't wait till Wednesday Night!

this looks like the web based game they had during the second season...wonder if it is.

and even though lost is being drug out 3 seasons, it's basically 2 seasons of episodes (48) drug over 3 years since it's gonna be 16 each season instead of 24. i think this is probably better since there have been some definate filler within the first 3. they'll be less now.

whomever started the new standard of 24 episodes a season (24 maybe?) really are stretching the lengths. it might work on sitcoms and procedural shows that tie up each episode but trying to stretch one story out that long is just plain tough.

Also it's on the Australian iTS-even though we can't download the actual show itself.

If Apple keeps releasing more games for iTunes, they might as well launch their own DS-like iGamepad or something like that to become the next handheld system out there. I wouldn't mind buying a portable gaming device that syncs with iTunes to load up games onto it's 2GB (just a guess ) flash drive. Oh well, back to reality.

I'm not a big fan of lost, but I love RPG/Adventure games. Does this game have any of those elements? I don't care that it's "lost" themed, but I would love to have a RPG/Adventure game on my ipod.

How is the game play for those who have played this already?

Nice and easy to control with the clickwheel.

Wonder if a new iPod game from EA could be based on The Sims.

This is pretty sad..all this love for idiotic tv no less, and now some real lame dopey ipod game.
Is this what it is...mindless consumers of whatever crap is put in front of their field of vision?
There was a band back in the 80's who made the observation that all one had to do was vomit on a piece of vinyl and it'll sell millions.

Bring back Gil Amelio. NOW!

Yeah, it's really picked up the last few weeks ('though Jacob was odd). I even got a little misty eyed last episode with the whole Charlie plot.

As for the game, I'm still on my 3G iPod so I won't be buying anytime soon. If I had a game-capable iPod, I'd definitely consider it.
