If someone is about to sell or give away their computer, how should they go about removing all sensitive info, such as passwords in the keychain, etc?

the best way is to do a complete re-install of the operating system. make sure you choose options when you select the disk and click the "erase and install" option

Sure. But I have heard that even after that, some information will still be left behind. ????

When you start up from the install CD, select Disk Utility from the "Installer" menu. In Disk Utility, you can erase the disk, and there's an option called "zero all sectors," which is more secure than just a basic disk erase. That's probably your best option.
