It's GeekTool with the following code:

cal | sed "s/^/ /;s/$/ /;s/ $(date +%e) / $(date +%e | sed 's/./*/g') /"

The asterisk in this part of the code 's/./*/g') can be changed to almost any other character, and is used to replace the numbers of the current day in the calendar (see image below). I believe wizwaz3 is using "#".

^^ Argh. All my calendars always have a few days/ dates that are screwy. Suggestions? (FYI: I just copy and pasted someguy's code (and just substitued # for *).

You need to use a monospaced font, like Courier.

Use a fixed-width font if you are having problems with spacing. Lucida Grande works fine for me, though.

Thumb resize.

Shanx! It's been killing me for like a month now... Haha. Odd though, Lucida Grande doesn't like me.

I use (and thus, recommend using) Andale Mono for your mono-spaced font. Monaco is also nice.

No, it took an unusually long time for me too.

If you click, it becomes big. It's from Interfacelift a while ago.

Thumb resize.
